MY STORY
My name is Monique Evans and I lived a life of sexual sin. At the time I didn’t know it was a sin. I thought it was okay to live this way. Even growing up in church, I didn’t have an understanding. I decided one day I was tired of the club scene and wanted to settle down and get married. I married a man I just met off of social media and we were engaged within three months and I got pregnant right away. Except I had no idea he was a womanizer and had a lust problem.I suspected early on he was seeing someone else, (a woman always knows), and began to pray and ask God for help. I discovered he was cheating on me with multiple women. He brought lust in our marriage and it was destroying everything.I confronted him and he denied it until I showed him proof. I left him and proceeded to file for divorce.
I completely cut off all communication and I was determined to start a new life without him. He continued to contact me throughout the months and tried everything to persuade me to come back to him but God said no. God was working on his heart. A man can say he’s sorry but only God knows if he was truly repentant. Through his text messages, I began to see a shift take place. I started to see a new man. With the help of the Holy Spirit, I felt peace over the months and God gave me the green light to reply to him and we met at the church and reconciled that day. I was now 8 months pregnant and he made the necessary adjustments to make me feel secure and he never cheated again.

That one act of betrayal was healed through forgiveness. A true repentance story of the heart.
Shortly after my husband passed away, I went back the club scene and dating apps to numb the pain. I rebounded into another relationship. When that relationship ended, I told God I was not going to choose my best, I wanted his best. That lead me into a 7 year journey of sanctification while abstaining from all sexual immorality. I had my trials and temptations, but I overcame and no longer live a a lifestyle of sexual sin.
Abstinence is possible.

Why then, they asked, “did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?” Jesus replied “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hears were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning/ I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery. Matthew 19:7
It is lust that will drive a woman away. Lust is not love. It is not faithful. It is not honoring. It is not holy. It is not righteous. It leads away, it entices, it destroys, and it kills. It destroys marriages, and affects families and children.
Let marriage be held in honor among all and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous. Hebrews 13:4
You are not alone. Many men are struggling in the area of lust. God has said it is not good for man to be alone let me make a helpmeet for him. There is a bride waiting fro you. A woman praying for your sanctification and purity. The key to a lasting marriage is a God honoring covenant between one man and one woman.
